Comps for 2011

Hi Guys

Just want to throw an idea out there for 2011.

Now that the Scale Garage is well and truly up and running I am thinking about running some pure scale comps next year. This means no rock crawlers or anything hybrid ( ie digs, two motors etc ). just straight scale including those with kooky bodies like pink RAVS.

The courses will be set up to be technical in driving skills, not rock crawling, including a lot of the hills and obstacles you would find if you went 4WDriving to places like Landcruiser park, springs, cityview etc.

I have a venue that we can build the course. I am thinking of having 1 event every 3 months and then the finals just before next Xmas.

Hopefully we can get some sponsors to help out with some prizes etc.

Also what does everyone think about having a small entry fee to help pay for prizes etc.

Over to you about any suggestions. This is not to replace QRock as I know most of you run a bit of everything but just another avenue where we can get together and have a bit of competitive fun.

I would be very interested as long as the days the comps are run we are given at least 2 weeks notice I should be able to get those days off and that they are only one day. I don't mind paying an entrat fee so we can have some prizes. So in total there would be 4 comps correct? 3 comps and a final.

i am thinking 4 comps and a final for the top 5 trucks placed for the previous 4 events. that way it gives incentive for everyone to try so that they get a crack at placing in the top 5.

i would work out all the dates in advance and post them ( i am thinking about the last sunday in march, june, sept and then nov with the final in Dec sometime. obviously rain etc would cause us to move them accordingly.

at this stage my parents own 10 acres at chambers flat about 10min south of browns plains. there is plenty of river bank to build the course.

I like the idea of having dedicated comps.. and I'm ok with the idea of a small entry fee, a small prob I have is being on the northside, chambers flats is a fair drive.. So i'll guess us northsiders will have figure something out like maybe carpool and take turns who drives.
