Post  micks troll Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:28 pm

Well done some shopping Twisted Evil New HR shocks , punisher shafts, 17 degree rod ends, new body, new motor and esc, can't wait!

As for RC4WD they are a bunch of clown and the damaged body is now being sent back to them getting refunded and going elsewhere for my parts (yes I know they make half this gear but they have been the worst company I have ever delt with) so no more direct dealings with the jocolor

Sucks to hear about the #### fight with RC4wd Mick. Sad part is its not uncommon when dealing with them directly.

Try going through Team GoNads or Tulare Hobbies next time...they stock all the RC4wd gear, pretty much the same price & i've never had an issue with them thus far.

The trouble is I'll need 3s lipos for more speed. Wideloads been helpin me out heaps with ideas so will see what happens when I get the gear. I got rid of 60% of the noise, the gears between the motor and gearbox (exsposed ones) need pulling off and dousing the bearings with silicon spray. Now it's heaps quieter Cool Just ya tailshafts are noisy as hell Laughing See how the new shafts go Question I may need to modify lower arm length to get correct angle on the unis I think! All good I suppose, gotta make mistakes to learn Embarassed

First try Lnc to scaler - Page 3 Empty Motor and pasts

Post  micks troll Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:49 am

Well waiting for parts to arrive from RPP and re-ordered a new motor esc combo. I have now ordered a Scorpion 2580kv motor and waterproof Sidewinder esc unit with field card, one small problem i found today is TZI has run out of 2580kv motors Sad but has offered to send the 3000kv motor, hope it has enough low down torque now scratch The bloke was more than helpful tho and is sending out an adapter plate free cheers
What pinion will i need to run on this? Troy help Smile

Oh and have changed the colours for the truck Cool Now it'll be Tamiya's sky blue anodized aluminium and pearl white combo a bit like this. I also bought the smoke for the windows Smile hurry up parts bounce bounce bounce

with the losi gearing you shouldn't have too much drama with torque. but i would start with a 12 or 14 tooth pinion personally and go from there, that way you can work up to the wheel speed & monitor temps. that way you shouldnt cook ya new motor. but id wait for the guru's advice aswell lol!

Cheers Ad's was thinking around those sizes as was looking around 15tooth for the 2580kv motor so will have to get some pinions to play with as only have a 20 tooth Shocked

Hey Mick, a 3000kv motor turns more rpm than a 27t brushed motor

i'd go a 14t pinion or smaller, gear according to motor temps. Keep it under 80*c and it'll be sweet.

You torque will be fine as well, those scorpion motors are staunch and will break #### if you arent careful.
